Meet Our New Staff Members!

Over the last few weeks, we’ve welcomed two wonderful people to the City Church staff! Read on to learn a little bit about them — and be sure to say hello next time you see them!

Katie Taylor

Katie Taylor joined the team as our Nursery Coordinator in mid-August. As Nursery Coordinator, she oversees the care and support of City Church’s infants and toddlers, their parents, and the many (many!) volunteers who serve them each Sunday.

Katie and her husband, Locke, have been members of City Church since 2020. Katie was born and raised in Chesterfield County. She graduated from Virginia Wesleyan College in 2017 with a certification to teach special education. She taught special education in Chesterfield County and Hanover County for seven years before transitioning to being a stay-at-home mom to their son, Locke IV. Katie and her family moved into the Atlee area of Mechanicsville in 2023.

Maddy Huffman

Maddy Huffman officially started her role as Director of Mission & Outreach right after Labor Day. Maddy will collaborate with leadership and staff to support the Mission & Outreach Committee, lead our Ministry Partner Giving Team, and help build and nurture a culture of service at City Church.

Maddy is a lifelong Richmonder — other than her time at Virginia Tech, where she studied Human Development and English. She completed her Master of Teaching at VCU in 2021. Maddy taught high school English in Henrico County and then worked as a recruiter in the Richmond area. Maddy is married to Dylan, and they live in Forest Hill with their daughter. Maddy and Dylan have been members of City Church since 2021.
