This Month’s Prayer Needs: April 2022

At City Church we strive to be a community of prayer dependent on God for His purpose, protection, and provision. Please join us in praying for the following…

EVERYDAY DOXOLOGISTS: RESTAURANT INDUSTRY WORKERS
Please pray for members of City Church who work in the food service and restaurant industry. Pray that they would: work with a Christ-like and humble attitude that reflects the Lord and impacts others; do all things as unto the Lord; find strength and joy each morning in order to carry out their tasks for the day; and ground themselves in truth, able and ready to give an answer to what they know to be true.

LOCAL MISSIONS: SHALOM FARMS
Shalom Farms is a nonprofit working together to build healthy communities by growing and sharing healthy food. The food Shalom Farms grows at its two locations (on the Northside and in Powhatan) is distributed through our network of programs and partnerships in communities where access to healthy food is limited. Please pray for Shalom Farms as they welcome their new Executive Director, Änna Ibrahim. Pray for Änna as she moves into this new role and for the entire Shalom Farms staff as they go through this time of transition. Pray for the work of Shalom Farms, specifically their Healthy Corner Store Initiative, Mobile Market, and Prescription Produce Plan. Please also pray for our ongoing partnership with Shalom Farms—that God grants us energy, enthusiasm, and creativity as we continue to support their work in the Richmond area. For more on Shalom Farms, visit shalomfarms.org.

GLOBAL MISSIONS: ROBBIE AND MINH LOAN M.
Robbie and Minh Loan M. are long-time City Church ministry partners currently living with their two children in Vietnam. Robbie teaches Bible classes in local Vietnamese churches and supports church plants in Ho Chi Minh City. Please pray for endurance and encouragement for Robbie and Minh Loan as they work alongside their Vietnamese brothers and sisters and regularly initiate conversations with neighbors about the person of Jesus. Please also pray for God to guide them in next steps of their ministry and for Robbie’s conversations with English partners to bring opportunities to explain his hope in Jesus.

MERCY & JUSTICE: THOSE FACING FOOD INSECURITY
According to the Virginia Department of Social Services, more than one in five Virginians face food insecurity (as of May 2020). The lingering effects of the COVID-19 pandemic continue to exacerbate this struggle in Virginia, the United States, and across the world. Please join us in praying for those currently facing food insecurity. Pray that God provide for them (Matthew 6:11). Pray that God stirs up compassion and cooperation among His people to take part in the work of caring for those in need. Pray that we remember these words from 1 John 3:17-18: “But if anyone has the world’s goods and sees his brother in need, yet closes his heart against him, how does God’s love abide in him? Little children, let us not love in word or talk but in deed and in truth.”
