Advent at City Church

Advent begins Sunday, November 28th. Here are a few items/events for you to be aware of during this season…

Church-Wide Read: We will read Gentle and Lowly: The Heart of Christ for Sinners and Suffers by Dane Ortlund together—one chapter a day beginning December 1st. Free copies are available. Be sure to tune into Good Morning, City Church each weekday as we reflect on this book together.

Scripture Memorization & Advent Resources for Families: Our City Kids will work on memorizing Matthew 11:28-30 (the anchor verse of Gentle and Lowly) during Advent. We invite adults to join them! We will have Advent resources for families available near the City Kids check-in cart on Sundays.

Christmas Pageant & Party: Kids ages 2 and up are invited to take part in our annual Christmas Pageant on Saturday, December 4th at 10am at Grace Covenant. Snacks and cookies to follow. Costumes are provided. All participants should arrive at 9:30am.

Women’s Advent Reflection: Join us at 8pm on Monday, December 6th in room 300 for a time of Advent-focused readings, music, and prayer.

Worship Service at Beth Ahabah: On December 19th, our service will take place at our old worship space, Beth Ahabah (1117 W. Franklin Street). We will still worship at 4pm and nursery and Children’s Worship will still be offered.

Christmas Eve Services: We will have two services on Christmas Eve: a family-focused service of lessons and carols at 3pm and a quieter services of lessons, carols, and communion at 11pm. Both services will
