This Month's Prayer Needs: December

At City Church we strive to be a community of prayer dependent on God for His purpose, protection, and provision. Please join us in praying for the following…

EVERYDAY DOXOLOGISTS: CUSTOMER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVES
Please pray for members of the City Church community who work as customer service representatives. Pray that they: react with grace and patience to customers who are often impatient or dissatisfied; find a balance between working with diligence and building relationships to share the gospel; maintain honesty and integrity in all interactions; and seek the Lord daily for strength and spiritual replenishment.

LOCAL MISSION: FOCUS
FOCUS (Fellowship of Christians in Universities and Schools) is a long-time ministry partner of City Church committed to providing independent school students spaces and relationships that allow them to explore a faith that is “real, adventurous, intellectually sound, and eminently practical.” Join the FOCUS staff in praising God for the number of students participating in small and large groups this year—hundreds are meeting across the region each week to learn about the Bible and Jesus’s love for them. Please also praise God for the fact that FOCUS staff is able to be back on school campuses to show students love and support at sporting events and performances. Finally, as registration has opened for summer programs, please pray that students sign up and that their time at these programs is fun and fruitful. If you would like to learn more about FOCUS, contact Jon-Marc Haden at jhaden@infocus.org.

GLOBAL MISSION: CITY TO CITY D-A-CH (CTC-D-A-CH)
CTC-D-A-CH is part of a leadership development network overseen by Redeemer Presbyterian Church (PCA) in New York City. CTC-D-A-CH focuses on preparing and supporting church planters serving in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. Join the staff of CTC-D-A-CH in praising God for a productive network meeting last month (the first in almost two years) which brought out more than 70 people from across the region, including new church planters. Please pray for the leadership of CTC-D-A-CH as they continue to care for these church planters and their growing communities. Please pray for the CTC-D-A-CH church planters, as well—may they be bold in telling the truth about Jesus in these largely unchurched cities and may they be attuned to how to best love, care for, and nurture those they meet. MERCY & JUSTICE: GUN VIOLENCE
During the time of year when we anticipate and celebrate the birth of Jesus, our Prince of Peace (Isaiah 9:6-7), please join us in praying for the epidemic of gun violence in our city, state, and nation. Pray that it comes to an end. Pray for the victims of gun violence and their families. For those who have survived injury, pray for their physical, emotional, and spiritual healing. For those who haven’t, pray for the comfort and healing of their loved ones. Pray that the perpetrators of gun violence seek repentance and embrace the life-changing grace of Jesus who said to his disciples: “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.” (John 14:27)
