This Month’s Prayer Needs: March 2022

At City Church we strive to be a community of prayer dependent on God for His purpose, protection, and provision. Please join us in praying for the following…

EVERYDAY DOXOLOGISTS: STAY-AT-HOME PARENTS
Please pray for parents whose daily work is in the home, that God would encourage them in the value and significance of their role and provide for their daily need for strength, patience, and wisdom in interacting with their families. Pray that they find refreshment daily through the Word, prayer, and fellowship with believers. Pray that God uses them in their neighborhoods and children’s schools to be a light and a witness to others.

LOCAL MISSIONS: PATTY’S HOPE
Patty’s Hope provides practical help, hope, and healing for women whose children have been placed in foster care. They partner with local organizations and the Christian community to implement a holistic, individualized program with a focus on four areas: Safe Housing, Trauma Recovery, Life Skills, and Healthy Community. Please join Patty’s Hope in prayer as they work to rebuild their core group of volunteers after many rotated off during the early days of the pandemic. Join them in praising God for providing office space with our friends at Christ Presbyterian Church. Pray for God’s guidance as the staff and volunteers of Patty’s Hope continue to love and care for women facing such challenging circumstances—may their words and actions be a reflection of Jesus’s love and grace. For more information on Patty’s Hope, please contact Peter Gunning at peter@pattyshope.org.

GLOBAL MISSIONS: YOUNG LIFE INTERNATIONAL
Young Life International is an organization that seeks to build authentic relationships with teenagers around the world and introduce them to the love of Jesus. Young Life International is currently in over 100 countries with about 1,500 staff and 20,000 volunteers who reach about 700,000 kids every year. Please join Young Life International in praying for their staff and volunteers around the world as they continue to navigate the challenges of the pandemic. Please pray in particular for Young Life staff and volunteers currently serving in Ukraine and its surrounding countries—pray for their safety, for their stamina, and that the light of Jesus’s love shines through them during this dark time.

MERCY & JUSTICE: ORPHANS AND WIDOWS
Deuteronomy 10:18 tells us, “[God] executes justice for the fatherless and the widow, and loves the sojourner, giving him food and clothing.” Later, in Isaiah 1:17, we hear, “...bring justice to the fatherless, plead the widow’s cause.” Pray that we be a church body that follows these instructions from God’s word and that we, too, have hearts for those among us who are vulnerable, both young and old. Pray for God to revive and grow our partnerships with organizations caring for these neighbors in the Richmond area, including Virginia Kids Belong, For Richmond, and Randolph Community Center.
