This Month's Prayer Needs: January 2022

At City Church we strive to be a community of prayer dependent on God for His purpose, protection, and provision. Please join us in praying for the following…

EVERYDAY DOXOLOGISTS: FINANCE PROFESSIONALS
Please pray that members of City Church who work in finance would: advise their clients with wisdom and insight; rely upon the Lord daily for security and strength; work honestly and with integrity; and invest their time, talents, and energy in serving the Kingdom of God.

LOCAL MISSIONS: ELIJAH HOUSE ACADEMY
Elijah House Academy (EHA) provides a Christ-centered and accessible choice in education that cultivates the hearts, minds, and bodies of our city’s children for God’s glory and Richmond’s flourishing. Please join the EHA staff in praising God for the addition of two second grade classes to their school community this school year! With such growth in mind, EHA plans to double the number of Richmond-area families it serves within the next 10 years. To do so, the EHA campus must be expanded and its facilities enhanced. Please join EHA’s staff and board in praying for Cultivate, a new capital campaign focused on raising $6.75 million over the next three years—pray that current and new donors are moved to give generously. For more information on Elijah House Academy, visit elijahhouseacademy.org.

GLOBAL MISSIONS: THE DAVISES IN PRAGUE
Originally from Richmond, Phil and Shanna Davis have lived in Prague, Czech Republic since 2005 with their three kids: Lucy, Clark, and Piper. They planted Faith Community Church in 2007, and moved into a new facility and planted a sister church at the end of 2017. Please join Phil, Shanna, and their entire church community in praising God that they are still able to worship in person (while also offering an online option). Please also pray for the Davis family as they continue to adjust to their oldest child, Lucy, being away at college—pray that she thrives at school and that her parents and siblings are able to celebrate this new chapter in her life while also missing her. Finally, pray for the Davises’ ongoing relationships with their non-believing friends. If you’d like to connect with the Davises, email Phil at phil@faithcommunity.cz.

MERCY & JUSTICE: THE SANCTITY OF LIFE
Pray that we be a church—and a world—that values life at all stages: in the womb, during childhood, and through adulthood. For the unborn, pray that their parents choose to bring them into the world and are surrounded by love, care, and tangible support. Pray that all children and adults have access to food, medical care, and safe places to live, learn, and thrive. And pray that we, as the church, answer the call to participate in caring for the defenseless, the vulnerable, and the marginalized as we share the truth of Jesus’s grace, forgiveness, and redeeming love. May we remember his words in Matthew 25:40 when he said, “Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.” May we be reflections and agents of the love of our God, the Giver of life.
