This Month's Prayer Needs: November

At City Church we strive to be a community of prayer dependent on God for His purpose, protection, and provision. Please join us in praying for the following…

EVERYDAY DOXOLOGISTS: ARTISTS & DESIGNERS
Please pray for members of City Church who use their God-given creativity in their work as designers and artists. Pray that God would: open doors for their talents to be used and refined in a fulfilling arena; refresh and inspire their hearts and minds as they spend time in God’s presence; give them new excitement for their work; strengthen them in boldness to witness to clients through a Christ-like example of attitudes and actions; and give them an appreciation of God’s design of creation so they can share it with others.

LOCAL MISSION: THE BARNABAS CENTER
The Barnabas Center is a nonprofit, Christ-centered counseling and training ministry with whom City Church has partnered for several years. The staff members at Barnabas serve the hurting in our community through individual and group counseling; they also provide training groups to where participants become better-equipped to care for and encourage loved ones facing difficult times. Please pray for the staff as they continue to help their clients navigate the emotional and spiritual repercussions of the last 18 months. Please also pray for provision financially by donors so that they are in a position to continue offering scholarship rates to any who need it. For information on The Barnabas Center, visit barnabasrva.org.

GLOBAL MISSION: ROBBIE & MINH LOAN IN VIETNAM
Robbie and Minh Loan are long-time City Church ministry partners currently living with their two young children in Vietnam. Robbie teaches Bible classes in local Vietnamese churches and supports new church plants in Ho Chi Minh City. Please pray for endurance and encouragement for Robbie and Minh Loan as they work alongside their Vietnamese brothers and sisters and regularly initiate conversations with neighbors about the person of Jesus. Please also pray for God to guide them in next steps of their ministry and for Robbie’s conversations with English partners to bring opportunities to explain his hope in Jesus.

MERCY & JUSTICE: THOSE AFFECTED BY INCARCERATION
Hebrews 3:13 states “Remember those who are in prison, as though in prison with them, and those who are mistreated, since you also are in the body.” Please pray for those in our community affected by incarceration. For those in prison, pray for their relationships with God. May they see themselves as God sees them: His beloved children and image-bearers. Pray that they seek repentance when it is due and find the full forgiveness and freedom that comes from the love of Christ. For their loved ones, pray that they, too, know the love of Christ and that we, their neighbors, help attend to their physical, spiritual, and emotional needs. If you are interested in ministering to individuals affected by incarceration, visit pdmin.com to learn about Prison Discipleship Ministry (a James River Presbytery ministry) which serves men an women who are or have been incarcerated in the central Virginia area.
