I'm Coming Home Soon: An Update from Josh

Note: Because of where Josh is currently located, he’s unable to use any specific religious language in his updates. Exams are almost finished, students are getting their train tickets home, the seniors have graduated... these things can only mean one thing: It's time for me to come home!

To say this year has flown would be an understatement. I can't believe that it's already the first day of summer! Although I haven't been as consistent as I wanted to be with my updates this year, the memories of the year are still fresh in my mind and I can't wait to share them with you in person!

The Father has been doing some incredible things in the city over the past few weeks. Tomorrow night we'll have our 2nd co-ed Book study. Our first was a huge success and encouragement for all of us. Hopefully this will be something that can be kept up next year.

Speaking of next year, just so we're all on the same page: I will be returning to the city at the end of August to start my 3rd year in China. My teammates on the other hand (Jaime and Kristina) have felt called to not return to China next year. And Scott will be teaching at a new school next year. So this summer, I'll be meeting an all new team and be introducing them to the city in a couple months. It's definitely a different turn of events, but I think the Father will have lots of great things in store!

Another thing that any of you connected to social media have probably seen lately is my girlfriend Caroline! She is a Chinese girl living in a city far away from me, actually. Being almost 1000 miles apart definitely has its challenges, but we're doing everything we can to make things work! She's a sweet girl, with a big heart, and loves Our Father very much. I first met her 2 years ago and, well, I'll save the story for when I see you all this summer! We're working very hard on getting her to visit the US this summer, but it's near impossible for her to get a visa. Please be pr_ying that something works out!

I have a lot more to share with you, and I'm sure there's a lot I need to catch up on, too! So, don't be shy to ask me to lunch this summer! My schedule is pretty free and I'd love to share all the fun stories with anyone who is willing to listen!

Have a great Sunday everyone! Happy Dragon Boat Festival/ Father's Day/ First Day of Summer!
