Caleb Grant Woodfin, 2002-2015
Caleb Grant Woodfin, age 13, passed away on November 11, 2015, in Richmond, Virginia, from a sudden and devastating brain aneurysm. He is the beloved son of Grant and Tracye Woodfin, and brother to Ethan, age 8.
Caleb was born on January 15, 2002, in Plano, Texas. He was a delight and joy to all who had the privilege of knowing him. Caleb was "the best big-brother", a wonderful student, a gifted writer, a photographer, a Texas A&M fan, a Star Wars aficionado, a lover of jazz music and an inventor of games. He joyfully shared his gentle and loving nature, beautiful smile and bright blue eyes with those he knew and loved. He loved everyone he met, especially his parents, his sweet little brother, his grandparents, great-grandparents and his cousins.
He is survived by his parents, Grant and Tracye; his brother Ethan; his grandparents William and Joanna McMahan, and Pat and Bill Woodfin; his great-grandmother Mary Joy Powell; his aunts, uncles and cousins: Mike and Kindra Barten (Madelyn, Nathan, Piper and Sophie), Andrew and Jenny McMahan (Leah and Evelyn), Todd and Kristi McMahan (Allison, Ericka and Annessa); and a host of family and special friends.
We find comfort in knowing that he loved Jesus deeply, and that while our hearts are broken, he is resting without pain or suffering in His loving arms.
We are incredibly thankful to the medical personnel at Hanover Emergency Center, Henry Fire Station # 6 in Hanover County, and the MCV Pediatric Intensive Care Unit for their diligent attention and efforts for our sweet boy.
A Celebration of Caleb’s life will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, November 14, at Grace Covenant Presbyterian Church, 1627 Monument Avenue, Richmond, Virginia, 23220. A reception will follow in the Fellowship Hall.
