PREPARE & CONNNECT

This week's sermon: Our "Word of Life" series continues on Sunday with a sermon from Joshua on 2 Timothy 3: 10-15. We invite you to read ahead as a way to prepare for this week's service.

New adult formation class: Our next Adult Formation Class is entitled "Discipleship: Helping one another follow Jesus." A disciple is a student who follows and learns from another. The last command that Jesus gave to his followers was the command to go and make disciples. This six-week course will train you how to help others follow Jesus through an intentional one on one relationship. All are welcome! Sundays 3:00-3:45pm in Room 303 starting November 1st. Questions? Contact joshua@citychurchrva.com. If you need childcare for any (or all) of these sessions, please RSVP using this form.

Meals for the Hunefelds and the Davises: The City Church community welcomed two babies last Wednesday, October 14th: Eleanor Jane (Nora) Hunefelt and Lydia Marie Davis. We will provide meals for these families for several weeks as they adjust to life at home with their new little ones. If you're interested in serving them in this way, visit takethemameal.com to sign up. The log-in information is...

Caring for the Marshalls: We have been given the opportunity to offer on-going care for two beloved City Church members: Jane Marshall and her mother, Mabel. Our current efforts are focused on providing meals for both Jane and Mabel and arranging for Mabel to have visitors when Jane needs to be out of the house. If you’re interested in taking part in meals and/or visitation, please contact Caitlin Wise at caitlincwise@gmail.com and she’ll get you connected.

CARITAS: Our next CARITAS commitments are November 15th, 17th, and 19th. Please consider being a part of this great opportunity as we partner with nearby Bethlehem Lutheran Church to show the compassion of Jesus to the homeless community by volunteering to make meals or staying overnight at the church. Check out our online sign up sheet. This is a great activity for City Groups or for individuals. Please contact Caroline Garrett at cgarrett17@gmail.com with questions.
