Start 2023 With Service

Last fall, we spent time during our worship services exploring what it means to be “sent out.” A big part of that exploration involved service: serving each other and serving the world.

With that in mind, we are excited to invite you to an event that we hope will become an annual tradition at City Church: Start With Service.

Start With Service is an opportunity for our church family to start off 2023 with hearts for serving our hosts, our city, and our world.

Join us on Saturday, January 14th, 9AM-12PM, at Grace Covenant for a morning of service. After a brief time of fellowship to start the day, we will spend the morning rotating between three (family-friendly!) service projects:

  • Completing small cleaning/improvement projects around Grace Covenant.

  • Putting together supply kits for those facing housing insecurity in Richmond.

  • Writing notes of encouragement (and more!) for the women at Green Leaf Crafts where Ministry Partner Jenna Opedun currently serves in Uganda—Jenna and her husband, Boas, will be there, too!

When we say family-friendly, we mean it. The projects we have planned are accessible for all ages, and we hope having our kids take part will help establish a habit of service for our entire church family.

In order to help us plan for materials and food, please register your household here.

Childcare will be provided for kids 2 and under at no charge, but please register by Wednesday, January 11th so we can make sure we have plenty of providers on-hand to care for the little ones.

We hope to see you on the 14th!
