Advent Jesse Tree

Parents and caregivers, we are fast approaching the Advent season, and we want to put something on your radar for this month.

In the past, City Church families have come together to create a set of ornaments for families that correspond with different readings in the Jesus storybook bible for Advent, called the Jesse Tree. This is an awesome way to encourage your kids to read the Bible, and is great for kids of ALL ages. If you already have a set of these ornaments, EXCELLENT! If you do not already have a set of ornaments, then this blog post is for you!

Traditionally, each family signs up to make 25 of one ornament, and then on Sunday, November 27th, we will bring all the completed ornaments together and do an exchange. Sign up here for which ornament you would like to make!

In the folder with the sign up, please also find an example photo of ornaments from years past. The ornaments can be made of anything from felt to wooden popsicle sticks to 3D printing, and can be as simple (or as complicated) as you'd like. If you want more inspiration, let me know and I can send you a few other examples as well!

If you have any questions at all, please contact me at katherine@citychurchrva.com.
