Children’s Ministry Volunteering Now Required for Members

Dear City Church,

Beginning in January 2022, we are asking all members ages 16 and up to serve in some capacity in City Church's Children's Ministry.

We realize this sounds like a big change, but in reality, most of you are already serving in Children's Ministry in some way—which is wonderful! We’ve been preaching about what it means for the church to be “members of each other” and caring for our children (who make up fully a third of our church!) is one way to live out that membership. This change also allows us to emphasize service as a formal part of church membership and (we hope) will communicate to those not currently serving how important it is to the whole church family.

As we implement this change, we ask that all members fill out this form to indicate their preferences for serving in Children's Ministry for the January-June 2022 term. As you'll see, there are a variety of options to choose from. We think everyone will be able to find a place to use their gifts well. We'll do our best to honor everyone's preferences.

We realize that serving in Children’s Ministry is not feasible for some members at this time. If you need to opt out for the January-June 2022 term, you may do so on the form linked above.

Please fill out the form by Tuesday, November 30th.

We plan to share the January-June 2022 Children's Ministry Volunteer Schedule by mid-December.

Finally, serving in Children's Ministry is not limited to members. We invite and encourage our regular attendees to serve as well!

If you have any questions, please let us know.

Stay well and do good.
