Search Committee Update

Dear City Church,

As we hope you know, the Session of City Church formed a search committee in the fall to find the right person to lead our children’s ministry into its next season of growth. This Director of Children’s Ministry will envision and implement discipleship of children ages 0-12 in nursery, Children’s Worship, and City Kids. The committee is looking for a person who demonstrates a deep faith as well as a love for children and their discovery of the Gospel.

The committee has already met several times to discuss the search process and goals. Since October, the job listing has been posted, and we have received resumes from nearly 20 candidates. We are encouraged by the number and diversity of the responses we have received; we have candidates with a wide range of experience and background. Over the coming weeks the search team looks forward to engaging more with the most promising candidates. We will meet next on Sunday, January 10th.

We wanted to give you this update and ask that you join us in prayer for the next Director of Children’s Ministry. We are praying that the Lord would continue to lead qualified candidates to apply, and for discernment during the interview and decision process. If you have any questions about the Children’s Ministry position or any part of the hiring process, please contact Erik or a member of the Search Committee.

Sincerely,
The Search Committee
Frank and Kate Allen, Tom and Stephanie Nicholas, Steph Neal, Trayce and Ethan Woodfin, and Erik Bonkovsky
