This Month's Prayer Needs: September

At City Church we strive to be a community of prayer dependent on God for His purpose, protection, and provision. Please join us in praying for the following…

EVERYDAY DOXOLOGISTS: STUDENTS
Please pray for all students— whether on the elementary school, middle school, high school, college, or graduate level—for their return to school. Pray for them (and their families) during this time of adjustment. Pray that they would understand and know that they image God in the work they do every day. Pray that their experiences in their classes and school communities bear fruit, and that they embrace this period of their lives as a time to better understand the world and their places in it.

LOCAL MISSION: IMAGO DEI NEIGHBORHOOD SCHOOL
Imago Dei Neighborhood School, one of City Church’s newest ministry partners, is working to offer holistic Christian education to families of all ethnicities and income levels in Richmond’s Northside. Imago Dei launches this month for students in pre-kindergarten through 2nd grade. Please join the school’s staff, teachers, and board in praising God as they see all of their hard work come to fruition. Please pray for a smooth start to the school year and that Imago Dei Neighborhood School serves as a safe, nurturing learning environment that celebrates each students’ value as an image bearer of God. GLOBAL MISSION: JESSICA FORBES
Jessica Forbes just celebrated her 10th anniversary of serving in Prague with Serge! Jessica works with Serge’s DoSlova Team—“DoSlova” is Czech for “in the world.” The DoSlova Team is planting a new church in Prague that emphasizes outreach to Czechs and long-term residents of Prague. Jessica works specifically with DoSlova’s women’s discipleship, brothel outreach, and anti-human trafficking efforts around the city. She is currently back in the US on home assignment—please pray that this time at home is restful, refreshing, and allows her to connect with current and potential partners. For more information, visit jessicainprague.org.

MERCY & JUSTICE: THOSE WITH MENTAL AND PHYSICAL DISABILITIES
According to the CDC, over 1.6 million adults in Virginia have a mental or physical disability—that’s equal to 24% and does not include children. Please pray for our loved ones, friends and neighbors living with mental and physical disabilities. Pray that they have consistent access to care that allows them to live full, vibrant lives with dignity. Pray that they know the unconditional love of Jesus. Pray that they are surrounded by supportive individuals and organizations—such as City Church partner Young Life Capernaum—who remind them of the truth that they are fearfully, wonderfully made image bearers loved by God.
