This Month's Prayer Needs: June

At City Church we strive to be a community of prayer dependent on God for His purpose, protection, and provision. Please join us in praying for the following…

EVERYDAY DOXOLOGISTS: MUSICIANS
Please pray for members of City Church who work and serve as musicians. Pray that they would: use their gifts of song and music to serve and glorify God; seek spiritual renewal in worshiping the Lord; allow God to cleanse their hearts and minds daily through his Word; and boldly proclaim the Lord and his truth through song, word, and deed.

LOCAL MISSION: FRANK MATTHEWS
Frank Matthews seeks out and trains leaders and pastors to plant churches to serve Richmond’s Hispanic community. The vision is to mobilize churches to engage with the over 1 million Hispanic residents in the state of Virginia. Please join Frank in praying for the church plant Igleisa Hispana Sycamore, which is welcoming interns Arnold and Jesse Lavaire this summer. Please also join him in praying for the next group of leaders God will provide to serve and share the gospel with the Hispanic community here in Richmond. To learn more, please contact Frank at fmatthews@sycamorepres.com.

GLOBAL MISSION: THE DAVISES IN PRAGUE
Originally from Richmond, Phil and Shanna Davis have lived in Prague, Czech Republic since 2005 with their three kids: Lucy, Clark, and Piper. They planted Faith Community Church in 2007, and moved into a new facility and planted a sister church at the end of 2017. Faith Community returned to worshiping in person on May 30th! Please pray for the Faith Community family as they celebrate and navigate this transition back to worshiping together, face-to-face. Additionally, Lucy, Phil and Shana’s oldest child, just graduated from high school, so please join them in praising God for this milestone and pray for guidance and wisdom for Lucy as she moves into this next phase in her life. If you’d like to connect with the Davises, email Phil at phil@faithcommunity.cz.

MERCY & JUSTICE: THE OPPRESSED AND PERSECUTED
Jesus stood in the synagogue in Nazareth and proclaimed he was sent “to proclaim good news to the poor...to proclaim liberty to the captives...to set at liberty those who are oppressed.” (Luke 4:1) Please pray for those in Richmond and beyond currently facing oppression and persecution in all forms— that they may see justice and mercy in their lives and know full freedom in Jesus. Pray that we as a church live into our calling as followers of Jesus to partner with him in caring for the oppressed and persecuted and sharing with them the good news of his love, healing, and liberation.
