One of our elders, David Blanchard, has submitted his resignation to the Session and it has been unanimously accepted.
Unfortunately, in this day and age, it’s important to add that David’s resignation is fully voluntary; it has nothing to do with any disqualifying circumstance. David was one of the three original elders at City Church and served in that role for six-and-a-half years straight. Right now he wants to be released from the commitment he made to serve, love, and lead City Church as elder, in order to give fuller attention to his work and family life.
We want to publicly thank David (along with his wife Kelly, and daughters Molly and Ann-Cason) for their care of this church. Although he’s too humble to make a big deal of it, in many ways City Church looks the way it does today because of David. Thank you. We love you!
