City Kids: Grow Leaders

Skills/traits needed: A love for children and for God’s Word, a sense of humor, and an ability to teach, lead, and have fun in a team context.

Training required: Pass a background check and interview with the Children’s Ministry Leadership, complete yearly childcare and child safety training, complete City Kids on-boarding with Pastor of Children and Families

Duties and expectations: City Kids Grow Leaders meet with children from age 4 and up twice a month after our worship service. During their hour with the children, they will enjoy a meal together cultivating the Christian discipline of feasting and friendship with children. After the meal together, leaders will facilitate a lesson from Scripture or a catechism, making of arts and crafts, music, drama, games, and discussion as a means for teaching children the good news of the gospel!

Time commitment: City Kids: Grow meets on the second and fourth Sunday of each month from mid-September through mid-May taking a break for the summer and Christmas. Each month leaders are expected to spend a total of two hours with children and two hours in prayerful lesson preparation from the curriculum provided. City Kids: Grow leaders serve for the entire academic year.
