Announcements, 7.8.15

This Week's Sermon: Our “Songs of Summer” series continues this week as Erik preaches on Psalm 46. We invite you to read ahead as a way to prepare for Sunday’s service.

Sign Up for Text Message Updates: You can now opt-in to receive updates and reminders from City Church via text message. Don’t worry, we won’t be blowing up your phone every five minutes. The plan is to use this as a means to communicate important pieces of information quickly. To opt-in, Text the phrase @citychurch to 23559. You should receive a confirmation message within a few seconds.

Prayer Tomorrow: At City Church we strive to be a community of prayer dependent on God for His purpose, protection, and provision. This summer we will pray through selected Psalms together, learning how to use these Biblical songs to shape how we talk with God and how we live into the Christian story. Please join us tomorrow, July 9th, at 7am to pray. Meet in the Church office, 3rd floor at Grace Covenant. Enter in the back entrance of building. We hope to see you there. (City Church prayer takes place every other Thursday.)

Summer Bible Studies: Please join us for a study on “Redeeming Friendship” this summer. The Women’s Study will meet Tuesdays from 7:30-9pm and the Men’s Study will meet Wednesdays from 7:30-9. Both groups will meet on the third floor of Grace Covenant. The Bible studies will go through August with a few breaks through the summer. Contact Meg Haden ( or Doug McBride ( with any questions. Please note: We realize that summer schedules can be tricky with kids out of school, vacation time, etc. If you can’t make it to all of the sessions, that is OK! The study is structured in a way that, should you miss a week or two, you’ll still be able to jump right into the conversation. We’d love to see you whenever you can make it!

Wednesday Morning Playdate: We have a standing Wednesday morning playdate throughout the summer at Lombardy Park (intersection of Lombardy and Park). We’ll meet at 9:30, but feel free to come and go as you can. Contact Adrienne Fike ( with questions.

Meals for City Church Families: We are currently providing meals for several City Church families: the Mortons, the Murphys, the Lowes, the Mathewses, and the Earmans. If you're interested in providing a meal, please visit and sign up. Please use the family's last name as the log-in and password.
