New Volunteer Rotation Starts Sunday: This Sunday marks the beginning of our June-September volunteer rotation. If you haven't already, please take a look at the volunteer rotation to see if/when you are scheduled to serve. Thank you!

This Week's Sermon: Erik will kick off our summer series "Songs of Summer" with a sermon on Psalm 1 on Sunday. We encourage you to read ahead as a way to prepare for this week's service.

Farewell to the Rowans: Peter Rowan, VCU's RUF Campus Pastor and a long-time partner and attendee of City Church, has been called to serve as Pastor at a church in Harrisburg, PA. Peter, Melise, and Lillie will be moving to their new home in Pennsylvania within the next couple weeks, and this Sunday will be their last service at City Church. We are so grateful for the time we've had with the entire Rowan family, and we will spend some time during Sunday's service praying for this new chapter in their lives. (For those of you connected to RUF, Peter's faithful intern, Jacob Lee, will be staying to serve another year until RUF hires a new campus pastor. If you have any questions about this transition, feel free to contact him at

Welcome, Summer Interns! We are excited to announce our interns for Summer 2015! Hannah Sullivan and Gretchen Mull will serve as our Children’s Ministry Interns; Jenna Murphy is our Women’s Ministry Intern; Doug McBride is our Discipleship Intern; and Blake Stack is our Mercy & Justice Intern.

New City Church Pastor! With great excitement we want to introduce Joshua Earman as City Church’s new pastor, effective July 5th. Joshua is married to Katie and they have four children: Anna (9), Beth (8), Eva (6), and Isaac (4). Both Joshua and his wife Katie are natives of Virginia and graduates of James Madison University. After working with Cru for 8 years (in Harrisonburg and in China), the Earmans went to St. Louis where Joshua attended Covenant Seminary. For the last two years they have lived and ministered at a church outside of Philadelphia. We look forward to their move to Richmond and ask you to pray for them during this time of transition. If you are interested in seeing Joshua’s resume or the description for his role at City Church, please contact Val ( For general questions about Joshua joining the City Church staff, feel free to contact Erik (
