PREPARE & CONNECT
This week's sermon: Our Advent series, “O Come, O Come, Emmanuel”, continues this week with a sermon from John on Luke 1:57-80. We invite you to read ahead as a way to prepare yourself for Sunday’s service.
A note about year-end giving: Please note that all end-of-year contribution checks need to be in-hand or postmarked by December 31st to go towards 2014 deductions. Checks with a postmark of December 31st (or before) will be counted as 2014 giving if they are received no later than January 10th, 2015. Online gifts will still need to be made by December 31st (some credit cards take 3-5 business to process, so please take that into consideration).
City Church Basics: Our next session of City Church Basics will take place on Friday, January 16th (7-9:30pm) and Saturday, January 17th (9:30-noon)at Grace Covenant. City Church Basics explains who we are as a church and what it means to be a member. It is a necessary step towards formally joining the church, although membership is not required. If you’re interested in taking part in this next session, please RSVP to Val Catrow (firstname.lastname@example.org). Contact Erik (email@example.com) with questions.
City Church Christmas pageant video: Taylor MacKillop has created a video of some highlights from this year's Christmas pageant that you can watch here. We hope you like it--and thanks so much, Taylor!
Christmas Eve services: We will hold two Christmas Eve services here at Grace Covenant: a family-friendly service at 3:30pm and an 11pm service with lessons, carols, and communion. FYI: Childcare will not be provided at these services.
Mercy Fund on Sunday: We will take up a special mercy fund offering at Sunday’s service, as we always do on the last Sunday of the month. Whatever is given will be kept separate from our general budget and will be used to aid those in our congregation, and in our community, who have emergency needs. Please prayerfully consider what you might give.
