PREPARE & CONNECT
This Week’s Sermon: Erik will preach on John 11:45-12:11 this Sunday. We invite you to read ahead as a way to prepare yourself for this week’s sermon.
Update from Josh: Please take a moment to read this update from Josh, a City Church member and missionary currently serving in China. Josh and his teammates are currently in the middle of "English Week" and would greatly appreciate your prayers.
Volunteer Schedule Now Up! The June-September Volunteer Schedule is now up and can be viewed here. Please review carefully, particularly if you serve on multiple teams. If you do have a conflict, please do your best to swap dates with another volunteer–just make sure to let your team leader know who will be serving in your place.
Prayer Tomorrow: At City Church we strive to be a community of prayer: dependent on God for His purpose, protection, and provision. Please join us tomorrow, May 29th, at 7am to pray for individual needs, City Church, and for the city of Richmond. We’ll be meeting this week at the Church office, 3rd floor at Grace Covenant. Enter in the back entrance of building. Hope to see you there. (City Church prayer takes place every other Thursday.)
Meet & Greet: All are welcome to join us for our monthly Meet & Greet out on the front patio immediately after Sunday's service. These monthly gatherings (hosted by a different City Group each month) are a chance for you to connect with others who attend City Church--and enjoy some snacks!
Prayer Walk for Bridge to Freedom: In Africa, Young Life is hosting a prayer walk to pray for all of the ramifications of slavery on its history. Young Life staff, local churches, and prayer partners are walking across the country of Tanzania to pray for redemption for past wrongs and also reaching every kid in Young Life Africa. Here in Richmond we want to join with them to pray for our own past and break the chains of the slavery of sin in every student in Virginia. If you would like to be a part of this prayer walk, please visit this link--they are especially in need of people to walk in some of the spots closer to Richmond. The Walk is June 10th-14th; most of the later legs in Richmond are 12th-14th. Please join us. Contact Ian McIntosh (email@example.com) with questions.
Cross Over Clinic: A team of City Church volunteers is exploring the opportunity to serve at Cross Over Minstry‘s healthcare clinic in downtown Richmond (108 Cowardin Avenue). There will be an informational meeting on June 16th at 7:30pm at the West End location (8600 Quiocassin Road). If you’re interested in attending this meeting and possibly joining the team as a volunteer, please contact Barrett Clark at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Support for Prague Team Members: The team headed to Prague in June is now in the process of raising money for their trip. If you would like to offer financial support to the team (either as a whole or toa specific team member), you may do so online or place your contribution in the offering box during our regular service. If you are giving to specific team member, please be sure to select his/her name from the dropdown menu when making an online gift or write his/her name in the memo line when paying by check.
