This Week’s Sermon: Peter will preach on John 9 this Sunday. We invite you to read ahead as a way to prepare yourself for this week’s sermon.

Parking on Sunday: The 2014 USA Cycling Collegiate Road Nationals will be held here in Richmond on Friday, May 2nd through Sunday, May 4th. The course goes up and down Monument and also includes surrounding streets. The traffic flow in and out of Grace Covenant’s parking lot will be affected. Please read this post on the City Church website for details.

Prayer Tomorrow: At City Church we strive to be a community of prayer: dependent on God for His purpose, protection, and provision. Please join us tomorrow, May 1st, at 7am to pray for individual needs, City Church, and for the city of Richmond. We’ll be meeting this week at the Church office, 3rd floor at Grace Covenant. Enter in the back entrance of building. Hope to see you there. (City Church prayer takes place every other Thursday.)

Men’s Overnight: Our annual Men’s Overnight will take place at Chanco on the James the evening of Friday, May 9th through the late afternoon of Saturday, May 10th. This is a great opportunity to meet new friends and establish community with other men at City Church. Cost ranges from $25-$50 per person, depending on accommodations, and includes food. Young Life 5k: Young Life in Hanover County is hosting the Ashcreek 5K on the morning of Saturday May 3rd.  They need runners. Would you consider registering and running in this great event. Race registration is $28, and every dollar raised goes to support leaders, staff, and kids going to camp this summer! You can register at

Friday Night Dinner: Our next Friday night dinner is on May 16th, and we want you to join us! This is a casual dinner open to all – members, visitors, neighbors, etc... – that provides a chance for us to get to know new people within our community. Hosts will provide the main dish, and each attendee can bring a side of their choosing to share with the group (up to 10 per house). If you are interested in attending, please RSVP using this form no later than Tuesday, May 13th, and we will be in touch with details.


Welcome, Baby Berg! Christine and Lanny Berg welcomed a baby girl–Sahalie Rebecca Berg–on April 14th. Sahalie weighed 8 pounds, 4 ounces, and was 21 inches long. We will provide meals for the Bergs as they adjust to life at home with their new baby. If you’d like to serve them in this way, please visit to sign up. The log-in and password are ‘Berg’.

Welcome, Baby Nicholas! Stephanie and Tom Nicholas welcomed a baby boy--Thomas Jay Nicholas--on April 23rd. Thomas weight 7 pounds, 7.7 ounces, and was 20 inches long. We will provide meals for Stephanie and Tom over the next several weeks, so stay tuned for details!

Items for Refugee Family: We will be collecting items for a refugee family that recently arrived in the Richmond area. They are need of clothes and household items--gift cards to purchase food and other necessities would be appreciated as well. Clothing sizes are as follows:

Women's Clothing Pants: sizes 11 or 12 Shirts: M, L, XL Bras: 42B, 36B Shoes: 7.5, 8

Men's Clothing Pants: 30 x 30, 36 x 32 Shirts: M, XL Shoes: 8.5, 9.5

Boy's Clothing Pants: sizes 14 to 16 Shirts: size 12 Shoes: 6.5

Little Boy's Clothing Any clothes size 5 or 6
