Prayer Tomorrow: At City Church we strive to be a community of prayer: dependent on God for His purpose, protection, and provision. Please join us tomorrow, April 3rd at 7am to pray for individual needs, City Church, and for the city of Richmond. We’ll be meeting this week at the Church office, 3rd floor at Grace Covenant. Enter in the back entrance of building. Hope to see you there. (City Church prayer takes place every other Thursday.)

Good Friday Service: This will mark the fourth year in a row we have observed a Good Friday service. It is a somber service of Lessons and Songs to help us mark the Passion of Jesus Christ our Lord. Join us on April 18th at 7pm at Grace Covenant.

Easter Brunch and Egg Hunt: To mark our celebration of the Easter season with our kids and families, we will hold a special event open to all at Grace Covenant Presbyterian Church, on Saturday, April 5th at 9:30am. The event will include a special Walk through Holy Week for the kids as well as a brunch and an Easter Egg Hunt. This event provides a non-threatening opportunity to invite friends and neighbors to learn more about why the Church celebrates Easter. Here you’ll find a PDF invitation that we hope you’ll send out to friends and family, inviting them to join us!

Create Every Day Meet-Up: Several City Church members and attendees have committed to creating something every day over the course of Lent. All who participated are invited to come to Kim Nix’s home (4419 Monument Avenue) on Saturday, April 5th at 7:30pm to discuss and celebrate their work. Nehemiah Action (RISC event): Join City Church at RISC’s Nehemiah Action on Monday, April 7th at 7:00pm at Good Shepherd Baptist Church (1127 North 28th Street). Faith communities across Richmond will gather to participate in Bon Secours’ public commitment to secure nursing and radiology technologist student positions for individuals needing access totraining and jobs.  RISC seeks to build a powerful community of racially, religiously, and socio-economically diverse congregations who address the root causes of injustice in the Greater Richmond region. Contact Barrett Clark, if you want to attend. Friday Night Dinner: Our next Friday night dinner is on April 11th, and we want you to join us! This is a casual dinner open to all – members, visitors, neighbors, etc… – that provides a chance for us to get to know new people within our community. Hosts will provide the main dish, and each attendee (up to 10 per house) can bring a side of their choosing to share with the group. Toast to Life: The East End Pregnancy Test & Help Center ( is hosting its third annual Toast to Life on Saturday, April 26th at 6pm (214 Paxton Road). The Center, which serves families in Richmond’s East End, offers life-promoting services including free pregnancy tests, optional counseling, and pre- and post-natal spiritual and material support. The Toast to Life will feature hors d’oeuvres, drinks, live music, and a live and silent auction. Randolph Community Building Event: On Saturday, April 12th from 9am to 12pm, VCU Students, Randolph community members, and local churches will gather at Petronus Jones Park to restore the walking trail, repair benches, mulch flower beds, and do some painting. This will be a practical way to share Christ’s love in our neighborhood as we build relationships and care for Richmond's public spaces. To RSVP, please email Blake Stack at

Support for Prague Team Members: The team headed to Prague in June is now in the process of raising money for their trip. If you would like to offer financial support to the team (either as a whole or toa specific team member), you may do so online or place your contribution in the offering box during our regular service. If you are giving to specific team member, please be sure to select his/her name from the dropdown menu when making an online gift or write his/her name in the memo line when paying by check.
