City Church Basics: Our next session of City Church Basics will take place on Friday, April 25th (7pm-9:30pm) and Saturday, April 26th (9:30am-noon) at Grace Covenant. City Church Basics explains who we are as a church and what it means to be a member. It is a necessary step towards formally joining the church, although membership is not required. Prayer Tomorrow: At City Church we strive to be a community of prayer: dependent on God for His purpose, protection, and provision. Please join us tomorrow, April 17th at 7am to pray for individual needs, City Church, and for the city of Richmond. We’ll be meeting this week at the Church office, 3rd floor at Grace Covenant. Enter in the back entrance of building. Hope to see you there. (City Church prayer takes place every other Thursday.)

Good Friday Service: This will mark the fourth year in a row we have observed a Good Friday service. It is a somber service of Lessons and Songs to help us mark the Passion of Jesus Christ our Lord. Join us THIS FRIDAY, April 18th at 7pm at Grace Covenant. Child care will be provided.

Toast to Life: The East End Pregnancy Test & Help Center ( is hosting its third annual Toast to Life on Saturday, April 26th at 6pm (214 Paxton Road). The Center, which serves families in Richmond’s East End, offers life-promoting services including free pregnancy tests, optional counseling, and pre- and post-natal spiritual and material support. The Toast to Life will feature hors d’oeuvres, drinks, live music, and a live and silent auction. Men's Overnight: Our annual Men’s Overnight will take place at Chanco on the James the evening of Friday, May 9th through the late afternoon of Saturday, May 10th. This is a great opportunity to meet new friends and establish community with other men at City Church. Cost ranges from $25-$50 per person, depending on accommodations, and includes food. Stewards of Children: City Church will host Stewards of Children Training, a nationally recognized child sexual abuse prevention training that educates adults to prevent, recognize, and react responsibly to child sexual abuse. This course will take place on Saturday, April 26th from 10am to 12:30pm in room 311 at Grace Covenant. Representatives from Greater Richmond SCAN (Stop Child Abuse Now) will conduct the course. All City Church members and attendees are welcome to attend. As April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month, Greater Richmond SCAN is offering this training free of charge. Support for Prague Team Members: The team headed to Prague in June is now in the process of raising money for their trip. If you would like to offer financial support to the team (either as a whole or toa specific team member), you may do so online or place your contribution in the offering box during our regular service. If you are giving to specific team member, please be sure to select his/her name from the dropdown menu when making an online gift or write his/her name in the memo line when paying by check.
