**COMING UP THIS WEEK** This Week’s Sermon Text: This Sunday Erik will preach on 2 Samuel 1:17-27. We invite you to read ahead to help prepare yourself for this week’s sermon.

Prayer Tomorrow: Please join members of City Church’s leadership and staff to prayfor City Church tomorrow, May 23rd, from 7am-8am at the church office (1520 W. Main Street, Suite 105). This will be our last prayer time in our current office before we move to our new office space at Grace Covenant.

May 26th Service: Our May 26th service will take place at Richard and Eniko Rumrill’s home (in St. Stephens Church, VA) at 4pm. This will be a slightly shorter worship service (taking place outdoors), followed by a potluck meal. Please bring a dish to share, as well as blankets and chairs if you like. There will be no nursery care or Children’s Worship during the service, but there will be space inside for children to rest, if needed. Please contact Valerie Catrow ( with questions. Mercy Fund: We will take up a special mercy fund offering at Sunday’s service, as we always do on the last Sunday of the month. Whatever is given will be kept separate from our general budget and will be used to aid those in our congregation, and in our community, who have emergency needs. Please prayerfully consider what you might give.


Meals for the Marshalls: Over the summer months, we are scheduling Saturday meals to support Mabel and Jane Marshall.  If you're interested in serving them in this way, please visit The log-in is "Marshall" and the password is "Jane."  If you have questions about providing the Marshalls with meals, please contact Patrick Shay (
