Helping with CARITAS: April 6th through 14th, City Church has the opportunity to serve the homeless of Richmond by partnering with Bethlehem Lutheran to provide food and shelter through the ministry of CARITAS. Volunteers are needed to prepare and serve meals, stay overnight at the church (located one block away on Grace St.) and in various other capacities. To learn more about how you can become involved, please read this recent post on the City Church website or email James Eggleston at firstname.lastname@example.org).
Online giving conversion: On Monday, April 8th, we will begin the process of switching over to a new online payment system This should not affect anything on your end, but if you have issues giving through the website, please email Val Catrow at email@example.com.
Nursery and Children's Worship volunteers needed: As City Church continues to grow, so does our need for volunteers to serve in the nursery and in Children's Worship as we help care for the youngest members of our church family. If you’re interested in serving City Church in this way, or have questions about what working in the nursery involves, please contact Jennifer Murphy at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Summer kickball team: For those interested in playing Kickball with fellow City Church friends in the River City Sports and Social Club, please contact Barrett Clark at Barretteclark@gmail.com. Games are in June and July.
Men’s Overnight: The City Church Men’s Overnight is 3pm Friday, May 10, 2013 till 4pm Saturday, May 11. It will be held at Chanco on the James (located about forty-five minutes south of Richmond). We will have access to the James River waterfront as well as all sorts of other outdoor activities. Please save the date and register through this link. Dinner on Friday, breakfast and lunch on Saturday are all included in the registration fee. This overnight is a great time to get away with other men from City Church. We will have a couple of short times together to talk about what it means to be men of faith. If you have questions or want to help with the overnight, contact Erik (email@example.com).
City Church Basics: Our next session of City Church Basics will take place the evening of Friday, April 26th (7-9:30), and the morning of April 27th (9:30-noon). Church Basics explains who we are as a church and what it means to be a member. It is a necessary step towards formally joining the church, although membership is not required. If you’re interested in taking part in this session, get in touch with Val at firstname.lastname@example.org. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Erik at email@example.com.
