Stewards of Children Training (LOCATION CHANGE): The rate of child sexual abuse is staggering: 1 in 4 girls and 1 in 6 boys will be sexually abused by the time they are 18 (source). If you are interested in learning how to prevent, recognize, and react to child sexual abuse, please join us for Stewards of Children training. This course will be held specifically for City Church of Richmond by the organization SCAN (Stop Child Abuse Now). The information presented would be helpful for those who work or volunteer with children, and for parents, but it is designed for any individuals concerned for the safety of children.The class will take place this Saturday, February 16th, from 9:00 am-12:00 pm at the City Church office (1520 W. Main Street, Suite 105). There is a fee of $10 that goes toward the workbook used during the class that is yours to keep. Conversation Partners Meeting: If you are interested in being a conversation partner with an international student, please join us for a brief informational meeting at 3pm on Sunday, February 17th, in the Joel House. For more information, contact Huey Lee at

City Church Newcomers Reception: We will host a informational session for City Church newcomers on Sunday, Friday 17th from 5:30-6pm in the basement/fellowship hall. This brief meeting will give those who are new to City Church a chance to meet some of the staff and learn more about the church as a whole. Feel free to pass this info along to those who might be interested in attending.

City Church will help provide meals for Johnny and Reilly as they adjust to life at home with their new baby boy. Lent Readings and Activities: Today, Ash Wednesday, marks the beginning of Lent, the six weeks leading to Easter–the Church’s greatest holiday (holy day). For more on how you can use these coming weeks to prepare for and reflect on the death and resurrection of Jesus, please read this post from Erik on the City Church website. New Saturday City Group: A new City Group will begin on this Saturday, February 9th from 4pm-6pm at Glenn & Laura Nunziata’s home. All are welcome to attend.We will be meeting every other week, and enjoying a meal together once a month. If you have children, bring them! We will hire childcare and share the costs among the parents. While this City Group is family-friendly, we would love to have a diverse group of people attend, so please come whether you are single, married, a parent, or not. Meals for the Fishers: City Church will help provide meals for Jenny, Matt, and big brother Cash as they adjust to life with their newest family member, Clarabelle (born last week). Women’s Spring Bible Studies: City Church’s weekly women’s Bible studies are underway, but please still feel free to join us. You can choose between two study times: Mondays from 7:30-9pm (starting January 28th) or Wednesdays from 9:30-11:30am. Childcare is available for the Wednesday morning study at a cost of $10 per child ($20 maximum per family). Supplies for Jenn Disse: We will be collecting items to send to Jenn Disse, a City Church member and missionary currently serving in South Sudan. Items needed/requested include: The Jesus Storybook Bible; children’s books set in Africa (new or gently used); markers; pens/pencils; teaching posters; maps; folders; anything teaching about Jesus, the Holy Spirt, and the fruits of the Spirit.
