Prayer tomorrow: Please join members of City Church’s leadership and staff to prayfor City Church tomorrow, December 20th, from 7am-8am at the church office (1520 W. Main Street, Suite 105).

Caroling with Grace Covenant: The members of Grace Covenant Presbyterian Church have invited us to join them for an evening of caroling in the Fan on Friday, December 21st. We’ll meet at Brian Baird’s house at 6pm for snacks and drinks. Caroling will start at around 6:30 and last about an hour. Please bring a small dish or appetizer to share. Christmas Eve Services: We will host two services on Christmas Eve at Beth Ahabah: one at 4pm and one at 11pm. The 4pm service is “family-friendly” and will feature readings by some of City Church’s younger attendees. The 11pm service will included lessons, carols, and communion. There will be no nursery care or Children’s Worship during our Christmas Eve services, but please feel free to bring the whole family — we would love to celebrate and worship with you all. Please note: we will not have access to the Beth Ahabah/St. James Parking Deck during these services. However, VCU has given us permission to use their parking deck at 1111 W. Broad Street (entrances at the corner of Broad and Harrison or Broad and Shafer). **NEW**

Change to guidlines for end-of-year contributions: After consulting other churches in the area, we'll be making a small change to how we handle end-of-year contributions. All checks need to be in-hand or postmarked by 12/31 to go towards 2012 deductions. Checks with a postmark of 12/31 (or before) will be counted as 2012 giving if they are received no later than January 10th. Online gifts will still need to be made by 12/31 (some credit cards take 3-5 business to process, so please take that into consideration). Thank you for your cooperation on this. City Church Basics: Our next session of City Church Basics will take place the evening of Friday, January 11th, and the morning of Saturday, January 12th. Church Basics explains who we are as a church and what it means to be a member. It is a necessary step towards formally joining the church, although membership is not required. CommonGoodRVA: CommonGoodRVA is a two-day conference focused on helping Christians exercise vocational stewardship for the common good of Richmond. During this conference we’ll explore what it means to see our everyday work as a meaningful part of our Christian calling. The conference will take place on Friday, January 18th (7-9:30pm) and Saturday, January 19th (9am to 3pm) at The Early Center at Union Presbyterian Seminary. The registration fee is $55.
