Information meeting on Advent/in Lieu: This Advent, City Church will pause to consider what it mean’s to celebrate Christ’s birth by spending less on things that distract us and giving more of ourselves to others in need. To do so we’ve partnered with an RVA startup, inLieu, to raise funds for the Living Hope School in Amuria, Uganda. Harvest Party Photos: Thank you to everyone who helped make this year's Harvest Party a big success! We hope everyone had a wonderful time and got a chance to get to know some new people. Interested in volunteering with City Church? We're getting ready to set up the first part of our volunteer rotation for 2013, and we're always looking for volunteers to help out with various aspects of the Sunday service: welcome team, baking communion bread, working in the nursery, etc. If you're interested in serving the church in this way, please contact Val (email@example.com).
YTD giving statements: YTD giving statements (January 1- October 21) were sent out last week. Please note that if you are planning to make any additional contributions to City Church this year, they must be in our possession no later than December 31st--regardless of postmark or credit card processing date--in order for them to appear on your 2012 statement. The Heresy of Orthodoxy: The Richmond Center for Christian Study will host “The Heresy of Orthodoxy: How Contemporary Culture’s Fascination with Diversity has Reshaped Our Understanding of Early Christianity” on Friday, November 9th at 7pm at Sycamore Presbyterian Church (510 Coalfield Road in Midlothian).
