Richmond Justice Initiative (RJI) hosts Corban Addison: RJI will host a book signing for Corban Addisons book, A Walk Across the Sun, on Wednesday, April 25th, 7pm to 10pm. at the Short Pump Barnes and Noble. Addison's book tells the story of Mumbai's seedy underworld--and the nightmare of two orphaned girls swept into the international sex trade. Come welcome Corban Addison as he shares personal stories from his time with IJM in India, and hear the inspiration behind the book! For more information, email Lane Burgess at

River City Sports & Social Club Kickball: Katie Spinks and Barrett Clark are forming a kickball team for River City Sports & Social Club’s summer kickball league (June through early August). If you are interested in playing and for details, contact Katie Spinks at ( or Barrett Clark ( Registration is $50. The Vassar Family Singers Play Old Time Gospel: The Vassar Family Singers will be performing at Tabernacle Baptist Church (1925 Grove Avenue) on Saturday, May 12th from 6:30pm and 8pm. Come enjoy an evening of live gospel music and take part in a sing-along (lyrics will be provided). Admission is free but donations will be accepted.


Downtown Lunch--TOMORROW: Our next Downtown Lunch will take place on Thursday, April 19th from 12pm to 1pm. We will do a ‘bring your own’ lunch and meet in the conference room of Riverfront Investment Group located at 1214 E. Cary Street. Erik will speak for 5 to 10 minutes after which we’ll share a meal and a conversation around the table.

Who Needs Theology? Answers to our Current Questions: Our current Christian Formation Class,  Who Needs Theology? Answers to our Current Questions, continues this Sunday. Additional class dates are as follows: 5/6, 5/13, 5/20. All classes will be held in the Joel House from 5:45-6:45pm. Contact John Bourgeois ( with questions.

City Church Banquet: In lieu of Vespers this month, City Church will hold a banquet in the Beth Ahabah auditorium immediately following the service on Sunday, April 29th from 5:30pm to 7:30pm. This will be a semi-formal, catered event, and childcare will be provided (dinner will be provided for the kids, too). An email invitation was sent out late last week. If you didn't receive it, contact Valerie Catrow at RSVPs must be in by Monday, April 23rd (including the number of kids you're bringing, if any).
