Jon-Marc's mother: On Sunday evening Marnie Holden (mother of City Church member, Jon-Marc Haden, and mother-in-law of City Church Women's Ministry Director, Meg Haden) died due to complications following heart bypass surgery. She was sixty years old. In life and in death, Marnie witnessed the grace of her Savior Jesus. The memorial service will be held on Friday morning at 11am near her home in Baltimore at Grace Fellowship Church (9505 Deereco Rd, Timonium, MD 21093). A reception will follow immediately afterward at the church. Per Marnie's request, those wishing to offer gifts in celebration of her life are asked to give to FOCUS ministry here in Richmond. Material Poverty in RVA and the 2010 Census: The CCDA (Christian Community Development Association) in Richmond will host Dr. John Moeser, Professor Emeritus of Urban Studies and Planning at VCU, this Saturday, March 17th, to present an overview of the 2010 census as it relates to race and economics in our region. Following the presentation will be a discussion about it's implications for followers of Jesus. The session will be held at Northminster Church (3121 Moss Side Avenue) from 9am-12pm.
City Church Forum: Our spring City Church Forum series "Stewarding Beauty" will start on Wednesday, March 28th, with documentary film-maker, Nate Clarke. The event will take place in Beth Ahabah's Joel House from 7:30-9 PM. (Parking is available in the parking deck, but please use the top level, reserving the other levels for those who will be at St. James that evening).
This is Our City: On Thursday, March 29th, at 7pm, Christianity Today will host a an evening of celebration and conversation about how Christians are contributing to the flourishing of Richmond. Downtown Lunch -- TOMORROW: Our next Downtown Lunch will take place on Thursday, March 15th from 12pm to 1pm. We will do a ‘bring your own’ lunch and meet in the conference room of Riverfront Investment Group located at 1214 E. Cary Street. Erik will speak for 5 to 10 minutes after which we’ll share a meal and a conversation around the table.

Friday Night Supper: We are doing another Friday night potluck in various homes throughout Richmond on Friday, March 30th and want you to join us! This is a casual dinner open to all people - members, visitors, skeptics, neighbors, etc. - and will provide a chance for us to get to know new people within our community. The host of each home will provide the main dish and each attendee (up to 12 per house) can bring a side of their choosing to share with the group.
