Parking on Sunday: St. James's will be hosting an Evensong service on Sunday afternoon, so we will not be able to use the parking garage. Plenty of street parking should be available, but please factor that in as you're leaving for church on Sunday.
Loaves & Fishes: Our next opportunity to prepare and serve a meal for Loaves & Fishes will be on Sunday, February 19th. We will meet at the Conrad Center (1400 Oliver Hill Way) from 11am until 2pm. Ash Wednesday service: An Ash Wednesday service marking the beginning of Lent (a period that the Church has used to prepare for Easter through repentance) will be held on February 22nd at Beth Ahabah (in the chapel) at 7pm. No childcare will be provided.
"The Movies and America: The Academy Award Nominees for Best Picture and What They Tell Us About Ourselves": The Richmond Center for Christian Study will host “The Movies and America: The Academy Award Nominees for Best Picture and What They Tell Us About Ourselves” with Dr. Drew Trotter, Executive Director of the Consortium of Christian Study Centers, on Friday, February 24th from 7:00-8:30pm aty St. Giles Presbyterian Church (5200 Grove Avenue). Sound Training: After worship on Sunday, February 12th, Daniel White will conduct a training time for everyone who assists with our sound team. We are looking for a few more people to help. Uganda Missions Trip Meeting: There will be a meeting for all interested in hearing more about the Uganda missions trip (scheduled for August of this year) on Wednesday, February 15th at 7:30pm at the church office (1520 W. Downtown Lunch: Our next Downtown Lunch will take place on Thursday, February 16th from 12-1pm. We will do a ‘bring your own’ lunch and meet in the conference room of Riverfront Investment Group located at 1214 E. Cary Street. Erik will share for 5 to 10 minutes after which we’ll share a meal and a conversation around the table.
