Drinks with Friends: Ladies, please join us on Wednesday, February 29th at 7pm at Amanda Murray's house (2200 Floyd Avenue), for wine and food with women from City Church. Vespers on February 26th: All are welcome to take part in our monthly Vespers meeting on Sunday, February 26th in the fellowship hall of Beth Ahabah (just downstairs from the sanctuary) immediately following our regular service. This is a time for us to share a meal and talk more about the vision of City Church. Please bring a dish to share. Remember: no pork or shellfish products are allowed in Beth Ahabah.
Helping Without Hurting: Brian Fikkert will be discussing his book, When Helping Hurts, at Trinity Presbyterian Church in Charlottesville on Saturday, March 10th during a one-day seminar. The seminar is intended to support the Church in loving people in their local neighborhoods who are materially poor. Downtown Lunch: Our next Downtown Lunch will take place on Thursday, February 16th from 12-1pm. We will do a ‘bring your own’ lunch and meet in the conference room of Riverfront Investment Group located at 1214 E. Cary Street. Erik will share for 5 to 10 minutes after which we’ll share a meal and a conversation around the table.
Loaves & Fishes: Our next opportunity to prepare and serve a meal for Loaves & Fishes will be THIS SUNDAY, February 19th. We will meet at the Conrad Center (1400 Oliver Hill Way) from 11am until 2pm. To RSVP, contact Kira Rhorer at email@example.com.
Ash Wednesday service: An Ash Wednesday service marking the beginning of Lent (a period that the Church has used to prepare for Easter through repentance) will be held on February 22nd at Beth Ahabah (in the chapel) at 7pm. No childcare will be provided.
Spring Christian Formation Classes: We will offer two Christian formation classes this Spring. All classes will be held on Sunday evenings in the Joel House from 5:45-6:45pm. See below for details and contact John Bourgeois (firstname.lastname@example.org) with questions.
