*NEW* City Church Forum – begins Thursday! This Fall City Church will be hosting “City Church Forum”, a speaker series exploring the intersection of faith and life. Each of these forums will meet from 7:30-9pm in the Joel House at Beth Ahabah (1123 W. Franklin Street). We will start things off on Thursday, October 6th with a presentation/talk by Fritz Kling entitled “Global Mission, Local Commitment”. Learn more about City Church Forum here:

Serve a shift, bring a friend! –  Loaves & Fishes – Sunday, October 16 If you’d like to help out at the next session of Loaves and Fishes scheduled for Sunday, October 16th, please put your name down for a shift on our electronic sign-up sheet found at (Spots may be limited depending on the shift). Loaves and Fishes is a practical way for us as a church community to demonstrate Christ’s love to those in need of a meal in our city. Church-Based Community Development Training (CCDA): October 29th, 9am-4pm Noel Castellanos, CEO of the Christian Community Development Association (CCDA) will be facilitating a training on how to love our under-resourced neighbors and neighborhoods through church-based community development ministry. Meals for the Bourgeois Family We will be coordinating meals for Mary Clarke and John (and their visiting family) for a few weeks as they adjust to life at home with Baby Leo. Christian Formation Class – Life Together: How the Gospel Bears on Our Friendships John Bourgeois and Jon-Marc Haden will be leading this 6-week class that will meet on Sundays from 6-7:30pm at the Joel House at Beth Ahabah (1123 W. Franklin Street). Remaining class dates are: 10/9, 10/16, and 11/6, 11/13, and 11/20. Please bring $5 to each session to help offset the cost of dinner. Transformational Truth with Dr. Douglas Stuart Needle’s Eye Ministries and Crestwood Presbyterian Church will be hosting an interactive seminar with Dr. Douglas Stuart, author of How to Read the Bible for All Its Worth and How to Read the Bible Book by Book. The seminar will take place from 8:30am to 3pm at West End Assembly of God (401 N. Parham Road). Tickets are $25 (includes continental breakfast and lunch). Apple Picking at Carter Mountain – October 22nd All are invited to join us for a trip up to Carter Mountain in Charlottesville for a morning/afternoon of picking apples (and picking out pumpkins). We will be meeting in the parking lot of Martin’s in Carytown at 9am on Saturday, October 22nd to caravan/car pool. Love Your Kids Seminar – November 5th West End Presbyterian Church (9008 Quioccasin Road) will be hosting a one-day seminar for parents of young children (0-12 years). “Love Your Kids” is designed to grow in you the heart of God toward your children. Tickets are $25/couple for WEPC attendees; $65/couple outside of WEPC. Visit to learn more and to register.
