Special Invite to the Westover Hills City Group -- Tomorrow!The Westover Hills City Group is inviting all who are interested to join them on Thursday to hear from Kelly Lersch, a member of the group who will be moving to Texas to serve with Reformed University Fellowship (RUF). Kelly will be sharing about her passion for college students and filling us in on her fundraising efforts before her move. The meeting will take place at the McGees' home at 7:30pm. Snacks will be provided.

Summer Supper Series Our final installment of our Summer Supper Series is scheduled for Saturday from 5pm to 7pm at Fox Elementary's playground. We will be keeping an eye on the weather for the remainder of this week and will send out an email on Friday to let you know if we will need to reschedule. If we do get rained out, we're hoping to meet on Sunday after our regular service, just as we would with Vespers. So keep an eye on your email for updates! We will also post an update to the City Church Facebook page ( Mercy Fund -- Sunday As this week's service falls on the last Sunday of the month, we will be taking contributions to our Mercy Fund. The Mercy Fund is kept separate from our regular budget and is used to provide financial support to members of our congregation and community who are in need. Please prayerfully consider what you might be willing to contribute.

Save the Date: Baby Shower for Mary Clarke Bourgeois There will be a baby shower for Mary Clarke Bourgeois on Saturday, September 10th at Jennifer Walker's house. Time is TBD, so stay tuned!


Deacon Nominations We will be accepting nominations for deacons through Wednesday, August 31st. Each potential deacon should be an active male member of the church. To submit a nomination, send an email to Erik (erik [at] or the Session (elders [at] or speak directly with Erik or one of the elders. It is advisable that you talk with any potential nominee to see whether he is willing to be nominated.

Women’s retreat — September 17th-18th The ladies of City Church will be heading out to Ann Douglas Enghauser family’s cabin in Cumberland County (about 50 miles outside of Richmond) on the morning of Saturday, September 17th and returning to Richmond at around noon that Sunday.
