Prayer -- 6/23 Please join members of City Church’s leadership and staff to pray for City Church on Thursday, June 23rd from 7-8am at the church office (1520 W. Main Street, Suite 105).
Mercy Fund -- THIS SUNDAY As this week’s service falls on the last Sunday of the month, we will be taking contributions to our Mercy Fund. The Mercy Fund is kept separate from our regular budget and is used to provide financial support to members of our congregation and community who are in need. Please prayerfully consider what you might be willing to contribute.
Grace Community Outreach Celebration -- 7/3 On Sunday, July 3rd at 11am, Grace Community Outreach Ministry (our church partner in Highland Park) will have its first worship service in their new location: the Parks and Rec building in Ann Hardy Park. They have invited people from City Church to join them in celebrating God's blessing on their church. We're invited for the service and for a meal following. Please consider attending. Welcome to the world, Baby Clarke! Steve and Patricia Clarke welcomed a baby boy, Andrew Higgins Clarke on June 13th. He was 9 lbs, 3 oz, baby and mom are doing well. Summer Supper Series Starts tonight! (updated info) Throughout this summer City Church will be running a Supper Series, giving church members and attendees a chance to share a meal and spend time in fellowship together. Our first supper will be at Joe and Katie Pitcher’s house (301 W. 28th Street) on Wednesday, June 22nd at 6pm. Festivities will also be taking place at Carter Jones Park right by Katie and Joe's house; we'll have games of cornhole set up over there and there's also a playground for the kids. Please bring a dish to share, as well as folding tables/chairs and/or blankets.
Baby shower for Katie Pitcher -- 6/25 Ladies, you’re invited to a baby shower for Katie Pitcher! Come celebrate Katie, and the little baby we will soon meet, on Saturday, June 25th at 7:30pm at Jennifer Murphy’s house (301 W. 26th Street). Katie is registered at Babies R Us and Tiny Tush (www.tinytush.com, password: Richmond). Katie would like you to know that gifts are not mandatory; please feel free to come even if you don’t have a chance to buy anything! Vespers -- 6/26 All are invited to join us for our monthly Vespers service immediately following our service on Sunday, June 26th. This is an opportunity for us to share a meal and learn more about what’s going on at City Church. After our dinner together we will have an informational presentation on the City Church budget (the new fiscal year begins on July 1). Please bring a dish to share -- no pork or shellfish, please!
CCDA Cafe -- 6/29 The Christian Community Development Association (CCDA) will be hosting a “cafe” on Wednesday June 29th from 6:30pm to 9pm at the Northside Family Learning Center (800 W. Graham Road). A CCDA cafe gives people a chance to meet other Christians working to live out the gospel in the urban environment, learn about the philosophy of Christian Community Development, and learn about opportunities to be involved in your community.
