City Church Particularization Service, 1/23 On Sunday, January 23rd, City Church will hold its particularization service as part of our normal worship service at 4 PM. During this  service we will ordain elders, install Erik as pastor, and formally become a church in the PCA. After the service we will have a reception at the Stonewall Jackson Professional Building (1520 W. Main St., at the corner with Lombardy St). Please plan on being a part of this exciting moment in the life of City Church. If you can help with the reception, please contact Jennifer Walker (jennifer.p.walker [at]

New Worship Space (starting 2/6) City Church will be moving its Sunday afternoon worship service to Beth Ahabah Synagogue (1117 W. Franklin St.) beginning in February 2011.  While the current building has served us well for the last 4 1/2 years, the bigger space at Beth Ahabah will allow us to welcome more people to worship and to serve our children and our community better. If you have questions about this transitions, please feel free to contact Andrew Bleckley (ableckley [at] or Erik (erik [at]

Loaves & Fishes, 1/16 -- Volunteers needed! Our next opportunity to serve at Loaves & Fishes will be Sunday, January 16th. Parking LL Lot behind Harvest Renewal is currently under construction. For the time being, we will be able to park in the GS Lot (the corner of W. Grace Street and Shafer Street, directly behind the LL Lot) and the W. Broad Parking Deck (the corner of Shafer and W. Broad Street). We only have 20 spots in the GS Lot, so the majority of people will need to park in the parking deck. We will have parking passes on the visitors’ table at Sunday’s service for you to use during our last few weeks at Harvest Renewal.

Meet & Eat, 1/16 Following Sunday's service a group from City Church will be heading out for dinner (location TBD). If you're relatively new to City Church, this meal offers a chance to get to know some people a bit better. We hope to see you there!

Dinner with Tim Toy (Young Life), 1/16 The Director of Richmond Metro Young Life, Tim Toy, will be sharing an update at City Church on Sunday, especially about new initiatives to catalyze urban Young Life work. After church the Bonkovskys will host a dinner for those interested in learning more about the work or getting to know Tim. If you are interested, please RSVP to Erik (erik [at]
