"When Helping Hurts" book discussion In our efforts to alleviate the complex social problems facing our city and our world, it's easy to feel overwhelmed and to wonder if our efforts to help end up hurting us and the very people we seek to help. This fall Blake Stack will be leading the Mercy and Justice Team in a discussion of the book, "When Helping Hurts". The largely self-paced study will meet four times. The first meeting is Sunday, September 12, at 2:30 PM at the church building (822 W. Franklin Street). For more information, email Blake at blakestack [at] Limited books remain.

City Groups starting soon! City Church isn't just a worship service. City Groups are smaller groups that meet at various times in people's homes each week to share life, experience Christ, and reach the city. If you're interested in joining a City Group, but haven't yet gotten connected to one, mail John Bourgeois john [at]

City Church Basics, 9/17 & 9/18 The next session of City Church Basics is scheduled for September 17 and 18. Church Basics explains who we are as a church and what it means to be a member. It is a necessary step towards formally joining the church, although membership is not required. Contact Erik (erik [at] with questions and for more info.
