Prayer Tomorrow: Please join members of City Church’s leadership and staff to pray for City Church tomorrow, January 17th, from 7am-8am at the church office (1520 W. Main Street, Suite 105).
CommonGoodRVA: CommonGoodRVA is a two-day conference focused on helping Christians exercise vocational stewardship for the common good of Richmond. During this conference we’ll explore what it means to see our everyday work as a meaningful part of our Christian calling. The conference will take place on Friday, January 18th (7-9:30pm) and Saturday, January 19th (9am to 3pm) at The Early Center at Union Presbyterian Seminary. The registration fee is $55. To learn more about CommonGoodRVA and to register, visit commongoodrva.com.
Loaves & Fishes: Our next opportunity to prepare and serve a meal for those who need it will be on Sunday, January 20th. We’ll meet at the Conrad Center (1400 Oliver Hill Way) from 11am to 2pm. If you’re interested in helping out, please contact Bo Vaughan at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Leadership Basics: This Spring City Church will offer a semester-long Leadership Basics course for any who seek to lead others towards God’s mission in our church, our community, and this world. The first four sessions of Leadership Basics will overlap with officer training. The remaining six sessions will run concurrently with officer training, but with distinct content. For more information, including meeting dates, times, and locations, please read this post on the City Church website. To register, email Valerie Catrow at email@example.com. Contact John Bourgeois at firstname.lastname@example.org with questions.
Childcare Basics: Our next session of Childcare Basics is scheduled for Saturday, January 26th from 9am to 12:30 at the Joel House. This is mandatory for all who volunteer regularly or substitute in Nursery or Children’s Worship. The morning will include training in several areas that will be relevant to the ages of the children you work with. Childcare will be provided. All new volunteers should’ve received an Evite earlier this week, but if you didn’t, please RSVP to Jennifer Murphy (email@example.com).
Officer Nominations: The next two weeks are an open officer nomination period at City Church. All members are invited to prayerfully submit nominations for elder and deacon. Nominations need to be made to Erik or the Session in writing (email is sufficient) and must be received by Saturday, January 26th. If you have questions regarding the office of elder or deacon, please refer to the email that was sent to all members last week, or contact Erik (firstname.lastname@example.org).
Meals for the Allens: Kate and Frank Allen welcomed their daughter Adeline on Tuesday, January 8th. We’ll be providing meals for the Allen family (including their two older children, Jack and Eleanor) as they get used to life at home with their new baby girl. If you’re interested in serving them in this way, please sign up at takethemameal.com. The log-in and password are ‘Allen’. (Please note that there are peanut and tree nut allergies in their famiy–thank you!)
Conversation Partners Needed: If you would like to sign up to be conversation partners to International students at VCU, please contact Huey Lee (email@example.com).
