PREPARE & CONNECT

This Week's Sermon: Our series "Songs of Summer" continues this week as Erik preaches on Psalm 126. We invite you to read ahead as a way to prepare for Sunday's service.

City Church Basics: Our next session of City Church Basics will take place on Friday, September 12th (7-9:30pm) and Saturday, September 13th (9:30am to noon) at Grace Covenant. City Church Basics explains who we are as a church and what it means to be a member. It is a necessary step towards formally joining the church, although membership is not required. If you’re interested in taking part in this next session, please RSVP to Val Catrow (val@citychurchrva.com). Contact Erik (erik@citychurchrva.com) with questions.

GATHER

Summer Bible Studies: Our men's and women's Bible studies are in full swing, but please note: you are welcome to join us at any time. While the study has a running theme of "Redeeming Frienship", each lesson is self-contained. The women meet Tuesdays from 7:30-9pm and the men meet Wednesdays, also from 7:30-9. Both groups will meet on the third floor of Grace Covenant. The Bible studies will go through August with a few breaks through the summer. Contact Jenna Murphy (murphy.jennaruth@gmail.com) or Doug McBride (dwmcbr@gmail.com) with any questions.

Save the Date: Welcome Back Sunday! All are welcome to join us for dinner immediately after our service on August 23rd to celebrate Welcome Back Sunday (previously known as "Fall Kick-Off"). This is a time when will share a meal, reconnect with students coming back for the new semester, and learn about what we've got coming up in the fall. Stay tuned for more details--and if you're interested in helping out with this event, please contact Val Catrow at val@citychurchrva.com.

SERVE

Prayer and Support for the Chattanooga Team: The Chattanooga Missions Team (Liz Crim; Catherine, Julia, and Sophia Kerns; Emily Osborne; and Blake Stack) head out of Richmond today to spend the next several days working with Hope for the Inner City. Please pray for safe travels, fruitful conversations, and that our team feel confident that the Holy Spirit is dwelling with them as they tackle this time of service and ministry. If you're also interested in providing additional financial support, you can do so by dropping a check in the offering box on sunday (please indicate which team member you're supporting) or make a donation online. Gifts can be made to individuals or to the team as a whole.

Meals for City Church Families: We are currently providing meals for several City Church families: the Mortons, the Murphys, the Lowes, the Mathewses, and the Earmans. If you’re interested in providing a meal, please visit takethemameal.com and sign up. Please use the family’s last name as the log-in and password.
