PREPARE & CONNECT
This Week’s Sermon: Erik will preach on John 21:20-25 this week. We invite you to read ahead as a way to prepare for Sunday’s service.
Women’s Ministry Survey: City Church’s Women’s Ministry offers a place where women can first find fellowship with Jesus Christ, and through Him cultivate community with one another. City Church desires for women to be encouraged and equipped to lead and love because of the grace found in Jesus’s life, death, and resurrection. As we continue to grow and develop our ministry for and to one another, we want to hear from you! To help us better serve and care for our community, please complete this brief survey. Thank you!
Volunteer Schedule Coming Tomorrow! We will send out the June-September volunteer schedule TOMORROW. Please keep an eye on your email!
Prayer Tomorrow: At City Church we strive to be a community of prayer: dependent on God for His purpose, protection, and provision. Please join us tomorrow, May 14th, at 7am to pray. Meet in the Church office, 3rd floor at Grace Covenant. Enter in the back entrance of building. We hope to see you there. (City Church prayer takes place every other Thursday.)
Adult Christian Formation Series: Our final Adult Christian Formation class will meet this Sunday. We will meet from 3-3:45 PM in Room 303 at Grace Covenant and will be facilitated by Erik, Meg, and other leaders at City Church. Childcare will be available in the Children’s Worship room for those who need it. For more information, contact Erik (email@example.com). If you are in need of childcare, please use this form to register; childcare RSVPs are needed by 4pm on Saturday so we can plan accordingly.
One Justice Conference: Richmond Justice Initiative, a City Church ministry partner, will host the One Justice Conference on May 15th and 16th. Focused on RJI’s mission to put an end to global slavery, One Justice will feature worship time, speakers, and breakout sessions–all geared towards equipping and empowering attendees to do God’s work of justice. The event will take place in two parts: Friday afternoon/evening and all day Saturday. Both will meet at Second Baptist Church, located at 9614 River Road. The cost is $65, but student and group discounts are available. For more information on the One Justice Conference–including more details on what to expect during the breakout sessions–visit onejusticeconference.com.
Volunteer with Backyard Bible Club! We are so excited for City Church's first EVER Backyard Bible Club (BBC). Kids ages 4 through 5th grade are invited to join us July 6th through 10th from 6:30pm to 7pm in Scuffletown Park in the Fan. We are in need of several volunteers to make BBC possible, so we hope you'll consider offering your time. Some volunteer positions require daily attendance, while others allow you to be more selective about which days you can serve. We are so grateful for any time you can give! To sign up, please visit this link. If you have questions volunteering with BBC (or BBC-related questions in general), please contact Jennifer Murpy at firstname.lastname@example.org. Parents: registration forms for BBC will be sent out soon!
Children’s Ministry Volunteers Needed: We are still in need of more Children’s Ministry volunteers, particularly in nursery as we are adding an additional room. If you are interested in serving with Children’s Ministry, please contact Jennifer Murphy at email@example.com. We currently need 9 additional Children’s Worship volunteers and 25 additional nursery volunteers. If we are unable to recruit additional volunteers, we will need to cut back to three nursery rooms. We hope you'll consider volunteering!
Meal for City Church Families: We are currently providing meals for two City Church families who have recently welcomed new babies: the Kronenthals (Fred, born on April 16th) and the Rawlses (Mac, born on May 2nd). If you're interested in serving them in this way, visit takethemameal.com to sign up. Please use the family's last name as the log-in and password.
