City Church Basics: Our next session of City Church Basics will take place THIS WEEKEND on Friday, May 8th (7-9:30pm) and Saturday, May 9th (9:30-noon)at Grace Covenant. City Church Basics explains who we are as a church and what it means to be a member. It is a necessary step towards formally joining the church, although membership is not required. Women's Ministry Survey: City Church’s Women’s Ministry offers a place where women can first find fellowship with Jesus Christ, and through Him cultivate community with one another. City Church desires for women to be encouraged and equipped to lead and love because of the grace found in Jesus’s life, death, and resurrection. Adult Christian Formation Series: For the next several Sundays we will explore the Ethics of Resurrection Life (topics will include: love, forgiveness, empathy, steadfastness, and gratitude. This discussion will take place from 3-3:45 PM in Room 303 at Grace Covenant and will be facilitated by Erik, Meg, and other leaders at City Church. One Justice Conference: Richmond Justice Initiative, a City Church ministry partner, will host the One Justice Conference on May 15th and 16th. Focused on RJI’s mission to put an end to global slavery, One Justice will feature worship time, speakers, and breakout sessions--all geared towards equipping and empowering attendees to do God’s work of justice. The event will take place in two parts: Friday afternoon/evening and all day Saturday. Both will meet at Second Baptist Church, located at 9614 River Road. The cost is $65, but student and group discounts are available. Welcome, Baby Rawls! Frank Macklin Rawls II ("Mac") was born on Saturday, May 2nd. Mac weighed 8 pounds, 5 ounces and was 21 inches long. Meals for the Kronenthals: Frederick King Kronenthal was born on Thursday, April 16th at 11:03pm. Fred weighed in at 8 pounds, 8 ounces. Chattanooga Trip! We are excited to travel to Chattanooga to work with Hope for the Inner City from Wednesday night, July 15th through Sunday, July 19th! It will be a great trip to build relationships, think critically about loving our neighbors from low-income backgrounds, and reflect on our collective need for Christ’s mercy. Children’s Ministry Volunteers Needed! We are in the process of putting together our next volunteer rotation and are in need of more Children’s Ministry, particularly in nursery as we are adding an additional room.
