Enter in the back entrance of building. Hope to see you there. (City Church prayer takes place every other Thursday.)

Downtown Faith & Work Lunch: Our next downtown lunch break will be tomorrow, April 16th at noon in the Macaulay & Burtch (1015 E. Main Street). The Fretful Porcupine Concert: make RVA (a local movement of artists and creative catalysts striving to fully integrate our art, faith, and humanity for the common good of RVA) will host an all-ages concert and conversation with The Fretful Porcupine on Friday, April 17th at 8pm at The Fourhundred (400 W. 32nd Street). The Fretful Porcupine features songwriter/fiddler Jake Armerding and saxophonist Kevin Gosa; you can learn more about them (and listen to some of their music) on their website. SERVE

Stewards of Children Training: City Church will host Stewards of Children Training, a nationally recognized sexual abuse prevention training that educates adults to prevent, recognize, and react responsibly to child sexual abuse. Typically, our mentality toward the idea of sexual abuse is, “it won’t happen to my child, or anyone I know.” We hope and pray that this is true, but, based on the statistic that 1 in 10 children will be sexually abused before they are 18, the reality is you will most likely know someone who was sexually abused at some point in their life, if you don’t already. This course will take place on Sunday, April 19th from 1:00pm-3:30pm in room 311 at Grace Covenant. Representatives from Greater Richmond SCAN (Stop Child Abuse Now) will conduct the course. All are welcome to attend–feel free to invite others outside of City Church. As April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month, Greater Richmond SCAN is offering this training free of charge. If you’re planning to attend, please RSVP to Jennifer Murphy (jennifer@citychurchrva.com) by TODAY.

NEW Adult Christian Formation Series: For the next five Sundays we will explore the Ethics of Resurrection Life (topics will include: love, forgiveness, empathy, steadfastness, and gratitude. This discussion will take place from 3-3:45 PM in Room 303 at Grace Covenant and will be facilitated by Erik, Meg, and other leaders at City Church. Childcare will be available in the Children’s Worship room for those who need it. For more information, contact Erik (erik@citychurchrva.com). If you are in need of childcare, please use this form to register; childcare RSVPs are needed by 4:00pm on Saturday so we can plan accordingly.

Randolph Volunteers Needed! Out of Christ’s love, members of City Church are partnering with the Randolph Community Center to serve as mentors and tutors in their after school program, any day of the week form 4pm to 6pm! (Think of CHAT, but just a few blocks away from City Church!) This is an exciting opportunity to love on kids in our local neighborhood by helping them with their homework and teaching them something new and exciting (i.e. art, sports, music, etc.)! Additionally, on April 18th, local churches, VCU, members of the Randolph community, and the City of Richmond will be coordinating a day of service to continue restoring parks and public spaces in the Randolph neighborhood from 9am to 12pm. This will be a day to serve, celebrate, and build community. A cookout will be held afterwards and all are welcome! To participate in either of these opportunities, please email Blake Stack blakestack@icloud.com.
