PREPARE & CONNECT

This Week’s Sermon: Erik will preach on John 12:20-36 this Sunday. We invite you to read ahead as a way to prepare yourself for this week’s sermon.

Commissioning the Prague Team: A team from City Church will be in Prague June 14th through 23rd. We will spend time at Sunday's service praying for the team and the work they will do with City Church ministry partners Phil and Shanna Davis while there. To learn more about the trip (and for specific ways you can pray for the team), please take a moment to read through this blog post from earlier this year. If you're interested in providing financial support, please see the info below.

Volunteer Schedule Now Up! The June-September Volunteer Schedule is up and can be viewed here. Please review carefully, particularly if you serve on multiple teams. If you do have a conflict, please do your best to swap dates with another volunteer–just make sure to let your team leader know who will be serving in your place.

GATHER

Women's Ministry Summer Events: Tonight at 7:30pm, we will kick off the summer with drinks and treats at Caley Crawford’s home (3326 Grove Avenue). Mondays evenings at 7:30pm (beginning June 9th), here at Grace Covenant, we will study the book of James, a letter written to early Christians to challenge and encourage them as they live our their faith. The cost of the study booklet is $5; please contact Meg Haden (meg@citychurchrva.com) to register. We will also hold a weekly playdate from 9:30 to 11:00am on Wednesdays (beginning June 11th) at Lombardy Park--all are welcome, so please come with your kids or just to visit!

Prayer Walk for Bridge to Freedom: In Africa, Young Life is hosting a prayer walk to pray for all of the ramifications of slavery on its history. Young Life staff, local churches, and prayer partners are walking across the country of Tanzania to pray for redemption for past wrongs and also reaching every kid in Young Life Africa. Here in Richmond we want to join with them to pray for our own past and break the chains of the slavery of sin in every student in Virginia. If you would like to be a part of this prayer walk, please visit this link–they are especially in need of people to walk in some of the spots closer to Richmond. The Walk is June 10th-14th; most of the later legs in Richmond are 12th-14th. Please join us. Contact Ian McIntosh (ikm1520@gmail.com) with questions.
