RCLI Update

City Church family, As the City Church mission liaison to and alumna of Richmond Christion Leadership Institute (RCLI), I want to share a little bit more about the organization and let you know that they’re accepting applications for the class of 2015!

Here’s some history: RCLI was started in 2007 by a diverse collection of Richmond-area Christians, following years of earnest prayer about God’s desire for Richmond and after out-of-town visits to explore the civic presence of Christians in other communities. What emerged was a structured program designed to connect and prepare emerging Christian leaders for service to our region in the name of Jesus Christ. Formally, the mission of RCLI is to “invest in, transform, and connect emerging leaders committed to Christ-centered unity and service to enhance the culture and conditions of the Richmond community.” Practically, RCLI is building a network of Christians poised to mature in their professional, church, and community roles to help reveal God’s kingdom across the region.

Personally, I feel incredibly blessed that I got to take a deep dive into the issues our city faces and see the Christian leadership in all arenas seeking the common good for Richmond. It's had a profound impact on my faith, my relationships, and my perspective as a voter, citizen, member of City Church, and employee. Few things have challenged or pushed me like RCLI.

Please pray and consider if you or someone you know may be interested in this truly unique opportunity. Generally RCLI is looking for individuals:

  • Age 25 - 40
  • Maturing in and driven by their faith in Jesus Christ
  • Who have demonstrated a heart for the Richmond region
  • Positioned in (or with potential for) leadership roles in their church, profession, or community
