Women's Fall Bible Studies: Ladies, we are excited for you to join us this fall as we study the Psalms together. We have two studies available, both taking place at Grace Covenant: Monday evenings (beginning September 9th) from 7:30pm to 9pm and Wednesday mornings (beginning September 11th) from 9:30am to 11:30am. Cultivating Communities of Mercy Seminar (additional childcare info): Extending our friendship to those in difficult circumstances can feel challenging when we try to do it alone, apart from Christian community. On Saturday, September 21st from 9:30 to noon, we’ll explore how to build networks of support to strengthen our ability to care for our friends both within and outside of City Church.Refreshments will be provided. City Groups: City Groups are groups that meet in people’s homes each week to read the Bible, share life together, pray for one another, and out of these groups serve their neighbors. For more information and to get connected to a group, email email@example.com.
CASA Volunteers Needed: Richmond Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) is in the process of putting together its Fall training class. Richmond CASA advocates for safe and permanent homes for abused and neglected children in the city.The Richmond CASA program follows the National CASA curriculum for training which includes 30 hours of classroom interaction and 5 hours of courtroom observation during the training period. Fall training is scheduled to begin October 8th. Classes are held in the evenings during a period of 5 weeks in the Oliver Hill Courts Building Sheppard Conference Room. Truth Project Discussion Group: Two City Church members–Jimmy Balta and George Davis–invite you to join them this Fall for a Truth Project Discussion Group. Designed to equip Christians with a comprehensive biblical worldview, the Truth Project utilizes a DVD-based small group discussion format. Each lesson examines a specific area of culture (e.g. Work & Labor, Philosophy & Ethics, History, Science, Theology, Government) through the lens of Scripture.
