Announcements, 3.20.13

This week’s sermon text: This Sunday Erik will continue our series on the life of David with a sermon on 1 Samuel 19:1-24. We invite you to read ahead to help prepare yourself for this week’s sermon. **COMING UP THIS WEEK**

Brunch & Egg Hunt: All are welcome to join us to celebrate Easter a week early on March 24th, Palm Sunday, from 10:00-12:30 at Hatch & Shannon Reppard's home.  We will be sharing a potluck brunch together, and there will be an egg hunt for the kids.  Please RSVP to Jennifer Murphy by TODAY, March 20th: jennifer@citychurchrva.com.

Children's Worship on Sunday: On Palm Sunday, March 24th, Children's Worship will take place during the entire service. Parents can drop kids off at the kitchenette (near the chapel in the educational wing) before they head to worship. They will be returned to church at the end of the service, as usual.

**NEW**

Childcare at the Good Friday service: On Good Friday (March 29th), City Church is holding aservice together with our sister church, Northside Church of Richmond. The service will take place at 7pm at their location: Battery Park Christian Church at 4201 Brook Road. Northside Church will provide childcare workers, but we'd like to help them plan by letting them know how many kids to expect from City Church. If you're planning on bringing kids to the Good Friday service, please email Val (val@citychurchrva.com) with their names and ages.

Men's Overnight: The City Church Men's Overnight is 3 PM Friday, May 10, 2013 till 4 PM Saturday, May 11. It will be held at Chanco on the James (located about forty-five minutes south of Richmond). We will have access to the James River waterfront as well as all sorts of other outdoor activities. Please save the date and register through this link. Dinner on Friday, breakfast and lunch on Saturday are all included in the registration fee. This overnight is a great time to get away with other men from City Church. We will have a couple of short times together to talk about what it means to be men of faith. If you have questions or want to help with the overnight, contact Erik (erik@citychurchrva.com).

**REMINDERS**

City Church Basics: Our next session of City Church Basics will take place the evening of Friday, April 26th (7-9:30), and the morning of April 27th (9:30-noon). Church Basics explains who we are as a church and what it means to be a member. It is a necessary step towards formally joining the church, although membership is not required. If you’re interested in taking part in this session, get in touch with Val at val@citychurchrva.com. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Erik at erik@citychurchrva.com.

Meals for New Parents: City Church is currently providing meals for three families who’ve welcomed new babies over the last few weeks — the Fishers (Clarabelle, born February 6th); the Keltonics (Kade, born February 9th); the Hadens (Chapin, born February 19th); and the Baxters (Elsie-Jane, born March 1st). If you’re interested in serving these families in this way, please visit takethemameal.com to sign up. The log-in and password for each meal calendar is the family’s last name.
