City Church will meet at Grace Covenant Presbyterian Church (1627 Monument Avenue) for those services. Childcare will still be available during those services.

Downtown Lunch: Our next Downtown Lunch will take place on Thursday, September 20th from 12pm to 1pm. We will do a ‘bring your own’ lunch and meet in the conference room of Riverfront Investment Group located at 1214 E. Cary Street. Erik will speak for 5 to 10 minutes after which we’ll share a meal and a conversation around the table.

Women's Bible studies begin next week! Women’s Bible studies for the Fall will meet on Monday evenings at 7:30pm and Wednesday mornings at 9:30am, starting on September 17th and 19th (childcare provided for a small fee). Both groups will meet at Grace Covenant Presbyterian Church (1627 Monument Avenue). Please use this link to sign up--particularly if you're planning to attend the Wednesday study and are in need of childcare. Please contact Meg Haden (meg@citychurchrva.com) with any questions.

Parking on 9/23: Due to an evening service scheduled at St. James Episcopal Church on Sunday, September 23rd, we've been asked to only use the top level of the parking deck. There should be plenty of street parking available as well, but please plan ahead for that.

Sign up for Women's Seminar featuring Paige Brown: Come join City Church women as we get to hear from renowned Bible teacher Paige Brown, as she reminds us of our encouragement in Jesus Christ and our need to serve him only, from I Kings 18 and 19.  You do not want to miss this!  Join us on Saturday, September 29th from 9am to noon, at All Saints Presbyterian (3000 Grove Avenue). Let us know you are coming by signing up at www.citychurchseminar.eventbrite.com; contact Meg Haden (meg@citychurchrva.com) with questions.

Build Tucker a Nursery: Tommy and Ellie Sibiga are in the process of finishing up Baby Tucker's nursery as he continues his stay in the NICU. If you're interested in helping them with some final projects, they are holding a work day at their home on Sunday, September 29th at 11am. For more information, stop by the Facebook event page. And as always, you can follow Tucker's progress (and to find out how you can be praying for them), visit Tommy and Ellie's blog: tommyandellie.com.

*REMINDERS*

Fall Christian Formation Class: City Church’s Fall Christian Formation class began last Sunday and will run weekly from 2:30 to 3:30pm in the Beth Ahabah auditorium (except for those two weeks we're meeting at Grace Covenant; we'll be in touch with specifics on that later this week). This semester’s topic is Habit: Liturgies for Life. If you’re interested in learning more, please contact John Bourgeois at john@citychurchrva.com.

Crafternoon! (rescheduled) Ladies, come join Ann Douglas Enghauser for Crafternoon on Saturday, September 22nd, at 2pm. This is open to the first 12 people who email Meg Haden, meg@citychurchrva.com, and the cost is $10 for supplies for making wreaths. This will be a great time to meet new people if you are new to City Church.  Hope to see you there!

Meals for the Walkers: Jennifer and Daniel Walker welcomed their daughter, Caroline Pace Walker, at 9:24am on August 22nd. Caroline weighed in at 7 pounds, 14 ounces, and was 21.75 inches long. We will be coordinating meals for Jennifer and Daniel as they adjust to life at home with Baby Caroline. If you’re interested in serving them in this way, visit takethemameal to sign up. The last name is ‘Walker’ and the password is ‘Caroline’.

City Church Basics: Our next session of City Church Basics is scheduled for Friday, September 21st (7pm to 9:30pm) and Saturday, September 22nd (9:30am to noon). Church Basics explains who we are as a church and what it means to be a member. It is a necessary step towards formally joining the church, although membership is not required. If you're interested in taking part in this session, please RSVP to Val at val@citychurchrva.com. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Erik at erik@citychurchrva.com.
