Summer Supper Series: Our next Summer Supper is TONIGHT, August 8th, from 5:30pm to 7:30pm at Humphrey Caulder Park (414 N. Thompson Street). We will provide the main dish; you just need to bring a side or a dessert. There’s a large playground and areas to play baksetball and volleyball, so bring sporting equipment of you’ve got it! Also a heads up regarding parking: the parking lot will be unavailable until 6pm due to another event, but there will be plenty of parking on the street. Please contact Caley Crawford (caleywcrawford@gmail.com) with questions.

Update from the Uganda Team: Thank you for your prayers for the Uganda Team as they continue their work with Living Hope this week. See below for an update from Grant Russell:

Greetings from Amuria, Uganda!

After leaving Richmond on Thursday morning, we arrived in Kampala, Uganda on Friday afternoon. A seven hour drive north on some very bumpy roads finally got us to Amuria on Saturday afternoon, where some local musicians welcomed us in a melody.

Sunday was a time of worship, rest, and planning. A group of young adults from nearby Kumi District arrived in the afternoon and pleasantly surprised us with their plans to teach seminars throughout the week.

After one day of camp with 200 kids, we all agree that the group from Kumi has been a huge blessing. Because everything is now taught in both English and the children's native Ateso, the camp is much more about believers from different sides of the world coming together to teach, rather than just Americans coming to Uganda to preach.

Despite a few initial stomach rumbles, everyone is in good health. Please pray we stay healthy for the rest of the week.

In Him, The City Church Uganda Team

Gift Cards for the Sibigas & Updates on Tucker: We are collecting gas card and gift cards for Ellie and Tommy Sibiga as a way to help support them as they spend much of their time in the NICU at Henrico Doctors Hospital with their baby boy, Tucker. If you’re interested in contributing to this, gas stations nearby include Kroger, Wawa, and Sheetz. Nearby restaurants include Panera, Chick-Fil-A, Arby’s, Westbury Pharmacy, Moe’s, Melito’s, and Superstars. Gift cards can be passed along to Caley Crawford during Sunday services or dropped off at the City Church office (1520 W. Main Street, Suite 105). If you’d like to learn more about additional ways we are working to care for Ellie, Tommy, and Tucker, please email Caley at caleywcrawford@gmail.com. For updates on how Tucker is doing and how you can be praying for the Sibiga family, be sure to check out Tommy and Ellie’s blog: tommyandellie.com.

Friday Night Dinner on August 17th: We are doing another Friday night potluck in various homes throughout Richmond on August 17th, and want you to join us! This is a casual dinner open to all people – members, visitors, skeptics, neighbors, etc. – and will provide a chance for us to get to know new people within our community. The host of each home will provide the main dish and each attendee (up to 12 per house) can bring a side of their choosing to share with the group. If you are interested in attending, please RSVP no later than Wednesday, August 15th, to Melise Rowan at melise930@gmail.com and she will be in touch with details.
